Do you have an idea where I found this post today, which reads: "Only wash your hands please, not your feet"....?

R&R, you are nearly right! I found this post in the toilets of the shopping arcade the "Palace Promenade" in Scheveningen. I can imagine the sight of all the people who wanted to wash their sandy feet after the beach....

This raises one of the issues I found here, ie the absence of showers on the beach, like you can find in many places in the world. The water connections are there (all the beach pavilions have water!), but for some reason, there are NO shower at all along the whole beach!

Ineke, are they so many people walking barefoot in your city!!!!!!?

Actually, there are 5 showers at Scheveningen. And a couple of water taps. (divided over Noorderstrand, Bad en Zuiderstrand)

But, I agree... most beaches do have enough showers, and Scheveningen just hasn't.

Thanks for the daily The Hague photo, I like the idea to view my city through the eyes of a French girl.

haha, no there are no bare footed ppl in Rotterdam but i know for homeless ppl the central station used to be a place where to washed themselves. Actually i was laughing when i read your post because i work in a building next to central station and we regularly have people washing their feet (seen it myself) in the bathroom.

somewhere in a public toillet near the beach?

Explaination why I said this:
Just coming from the beach you have sandy feet, that looks dirty& too much give sand and they/bar or restaurant won't like that?)

2bfrank, I will definitely try to get a sight on those showers, because so far I have not spotted them.... Thanks for the tip!

Joann, This is indeed a public 50cts toilet on the groud floor of the Palace Promenade.
