I found this garage door in the Van Loostraat, and still wonder how you can come up with the idea of painting this outside door so colorful in this very traditional street....or am I too traditional myself? I think it pictures the Orient Express train. Maybe the owner had some very nice memories of this exceptional train?

Hey Lezard,
Yes well I can imagine that this people in de vna LOOSTRAAT, liked coloured garage-doors, because most of the houses (stones) are so dark, some colour is needed? that what they thought probably...
Do you want to see my SUNNY weekend , (where I live) I added 10 photo's to show my sunday walk with Ios in Naarden/Holland.
Have a great week!
JoAnn
Yeah, I wonder how they got away with it. In your photo, it looks really attractive and festive, but I don't think I'd like to have to look at that garage door every day, if I were one of their neighbors across the street.
It is quite a punch of color. Maybe they were using up leftover paint?
Would like to know how the neighbours reacted to this funky door......
Your colourful garage photo prompted me to create a similar post and I have link my pix to your posting. Colours on the Highland
