Here we are!!! Sinterklaas is gone, all minds are now switched towards Father Christmas. Christmas trees are being decorated, lights are lit up everywhere, Christmas markets also open this week-end in different locations, and companies have started to organize their Christmas parties. December is really the party month!

Amazing how fast after pakjesavond the trees start going up!
Isn't it funny that English-speaking people call him Santa Claus? I have always wondered why. Santa Claus is Saint Nicolas, isn't it?
There are a lot of people in the stores and the streets are all decorated. I don't like this "season" very much.
R&R : I am also amazed how things are so organized here!
Marie,
You are absolutely right! Here what WIkipedia says: "Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa" is a historical, legendary and mythological character believed by many to bring gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day".
So at the end, it is all the same guy!!!! Except that in Holland, we'll tend to celebrate AND Sinterklaas AND Christmas. I must say a bit confusing for the kids, especially my kids since we are always celebrating Sinterklaas in Holland and Christmas in France, with 2 very different traditions......
