Dutch colours

Walking along the Troelstrakade, South-west of the city, you'll find many boat houses where people permanently live. The council house is trying to regulate the number of boat houses by requiring a permit. Expect to pay around 200,000 euro for a 17m*5m boat house in this location....

G'day, Lezard! If a houseboat goes for 200,000 Euro, then how much does a, say, 2 bedroom/1 bathroom flat cost in your city? Also, if you don't mind, what's the annual average family income?

Just looked up for you in the council's 2006 stats!!! Here what I found:
1. Average yearly disposable income in the Hague just under 30,000 euros.
2. Average selling price flat around 180,000 euros (410,000 euros for a single family house).
Note that in Holland, 100% of your loan interests are deductible from your taxable income.....

Thanks for looking that up, I appreciate it.

So, that would be per capita, right? Then I could assume that a ~55,000 Euro net income would be about right for a family of four (two adults, and two kiddos). If that's so, then a single family house is almost unattainable and a flat, well, kinda tight.

I was hoping that the real estate prices in your country would be a lot less ridiculous than ours, but they seem to be pretty close. :(

Hi Leazrd ,
Funny that I post about Paris and you about The Hague, Its so intersting how you discribe the Dutch Habits, You know even a lot more about The Hague that I do, thats interesting to me.

I red you like the metro in Paris and that you would use it mostly, well I completely understand that, when I am there, me too!

We Dutch are celebrating "Sinterklaas" I show that "Saint from Spain " on my blog today , its a children's party. Its like "Santa" with Christmas, we celebrate both, Santa Christmas and Santa Klaas now in early 5 December.
